Bank staff required for outreach services - Saltash, Par, Liskeard and Launceston

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated bank Support Worker to join our team.

We are looking for caring and enthusiastic individuals to join our team supporting people with autism and learning disabilities across Cornwall.

In this role, you will help individuals access and enjoy their local communities while promoting independence and confidence. No two days are the same. The people we support take part in a variety of activities across Devon and Cornwall, from enjoying an evening meal out to shopping trips in Plymouth or participating in community events.

We currently have two bank positions available:

  1. PAR Service (Female Only)

This role supports a female-only service within the PAR team. The shifts include:

  • Tuesday & Thursday: 15:00 – 19:00
  • Sunday: 13:00 – 19:00
  • One Monday per month: 09:00 – 15:00
  • One waking night shift per month (Sunday)
  1. Community Support – Saltash & Launceston (Male or Female Applicants)

This role involves supporting individuals across our Saltash and Launceston services. Shifts include:

  • Saltash:

○ Monday: 11:00 – 17:00

○ Tuesday: 10:00 – 17:00

○ Thursday & Friday: 11:00 – 17:00

  • Launceston:

○ Monday & Wednesday: 18:00 – 21:00

○ Friday: 10:00 – 18:00

Job Description

Being a support worker at Aspire Support is sometimes demanding but always hugely rewarding for those with passion, drive and commitment to improve the lives of people with a learning disability.

Purpose of Role

You will support this individual to live a happy and fulfilled life and one that is as independent as possible. You will support them to develop positive relationships and to be an equal and valued member of their local community.

The role has responsibilities that focus on two areas:

Quality

You work effectively to provide individualised, outcome-focused support to the person you support. You enable them to lead their lives as independently as possible.

Relationships

You work collaboratively, positively and widely with the person, their family, and your Aspire and statutory colleagues.

What you need to bring – Bring fun, laughter, and creativity to the role by supporting individuals to make the most of their time in the community, while helping them build confidence and develop a sense of belonging within it.

Essential:

  • Right to work in the UK (we have no remaining visas)
  • Working with people with autism: 1 year (required)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability and confidence to generate and build effectiverelationships
  • Basic IT literacy and numeracy skills
  • Supporting people with dignity and respect
  • Day support MUST have a driving license with business insurance and a valid MOT certificate

Desirable:

  • Initiative and confidence to make decisions
  • Ability to work calmly , efficiently and accurately under pressure
  • Knowledge about Care Quality Commission and care standards
  • Educated to GCSE level, or equivalent, in Maths and English and/or a Social Care qualification

Other

  • Willingness to undertake training and personal development activities as required
